Absence Note
Please COMPLETE THIS ABSENCE NOTE the day your student returns to school. Please include all dates of the student’s absence, and allow 48-72 hours for attendance notes to be added to your student’s account.

Attendance Reminders
Research shows that attendance is the single most important factor in school success. Schools are responsible for teaching your child. But schools can’t do their job if your child is absent. Learning builds day by day. A child who misses a day or part of a day of school misses learning.
Attendance is taken at 10:30am daily. A student must be physically on campus at this time to be considered present for the day. If a student is at a doctor, dentist, or therapy appointment, a provider’s note is required to excuse the absence. If a student is absent due to illness, a parent or doctor’s note must be provided to excuse the absence. A doctor’s note is required if a student is absent for five or more consecutive school days due to illness. Attendance notes are to be submitted within three days of returning from the absence.
We want school to be a place that your child loves to attend. Your child’s teacher and the support staff at Davis are monitoring attendance. To help us out, please make sure you do the following:
- Send your child to school EVERY day.
- Ensure your child is in class by 7:40am.
- Avoid scheduling appointments during school hours.
- If your child is sick, please write a note or send a doctor’s note when your child returns to school.
- Login to your parent portal to monitor your child’s attendance.
