Observe – Question – Investigate!

Calling all inquiring minds and budding scientists! The Davis Science Fair is the opportunity for you!

We encourage all young Einsteins to unleash their potential, creativity, and curiosity by participating in our annual Science Fair. This is a great opportunity for each Davis student to explore their passion, be it geology, music, sports, baking, computers, cat training, or something else entirely.

Projects may be completed individually or in a group of up to three students. The top 3rd through 5th grade projects will be selected to represent Davis at the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival.

2025 Davis Science Fair

Projects are due on Tuesday, January 14th. To submit, please bring your project to the Davis cafeteria at the beginning of the school day Tuesday, January 14th.

Projects should be submitted on a sturdy tri-fold board available at local craft and office supply stores. Written material, drawings and pictures should be securely attached to the display board. Complete and bring the Davis Entry Form (all entries) and Project Research Plan (3rd through 5th only) to submit with your project.

Judging will take place on Wednesday, January 15th, 8–10am, when students will individually explain their project to a pair of judges.

2025 Important Dates

Davis Science Fair:

Project Deadline: Tuesday, January 14
Project Judging: Wednesday, January 15, 8–10am
Showcase & Awards Ceremony: Thursday, January 16, 5:30–6:30pm

Austin Energy Regional Science Fest: (3rd through 5th grades only)

Project Deadline: Thursday, January 23
Project Set Up: Friday February 21
Project Judging & Awards: Saturday, February 22

Once the Davis and Regional Science Fairs have been completed, we will arrange an awards pick-up time and place.

Austin Energy Regional Science Festival (AERSF)

The top 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade projects from the Davis Science Fair will advance to the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival. All students and families are invited to attend the Exploring Science Day, Public Viewing of Projects, and Awards Ceremony.
