Kindergarten Class of 2024–2025

To help ease the transition for incoming kindergarten students and their families, we invite you to be part of the Welcome to Davis Club, run by our Davis PTA. There will be fun and engaging events and opportunities for students to meet future classmates, and for parents and guardians to meet future and current Davis parents. Families of new students in other grades are more than welcome as well, just know that the events are designed with kindergarteners in mind.

2024 Schedule of Events

Splash into Davis Pool Party – Saturday, August 17th, 10am–12pm, Balcones Woods Neighborhood Pool

Your incoming kindergartener can say goodbye to summer while meeting new kinder friends at the Balcones Woods Neighborhood Pool, located at 11204 Alhambra Dr, Austin, TX 78759.

Boo-Hoo / Ya-Hoo Parents’ Reception – Tuesday, August 20th, 7:45–8:15am (First Day of School)

Join us for our annual Boo-Hoo/Ya-Hoo Reception for kindergarten parents the first day of school after drop-off. Meet other kindergarten parents under the oak tree in the meadow, located just to the right of the front doors. Just follow the signs until you find the table with balloons and kleenex. Light refreshments will be served.

Davis 2024 Back to School Events

Ice Cream Social & Meet the Teacher – Thursday, August 15th, 4:30–6pm

Davis families are invited to meet their students’ new teacher and classmates, and enjoy an ice cream sandwich or a popsicle to celebrate the beginning of the new school year.

New Family Orientation – Thursday, August 22nd, 8–9am & 6–7pm

We are offering two New Family Orientation sessions for all new Davis families. Principal Jenny Daniels and Assistant Principals Kareen McCarter and Katy Escandell will discuss important information about Davis programs, policies and procedures, followed by a Q&A session and campus tour.

Back to School Night – Wednesday, September 4th, 5:30–7:00pm

We are hosting a Back to School Night for PreK–5th grades. All parents/guardians are invited to visit your child’s classroom and meet with your child’s teacher. This is a time to learn more about the classroom routine, expectations and other important topics.

This event is an information session for parents/guardians, so please make child care arrangements if possible.
